Buddha :
Buddha was the ninth avatar of Vishnu . He was the Founder and father of the Buddhist faith . He was born an enchanted child in 563 BC as Siddhartha Gautam, a prince of the Sakya clan and already full of wisdom . Deeply disturbed by the human burdens of old age, disease and death, he left the comforts of his palace as well as his lovely bride and newly born son, to embark on a journey of contemplation in his search for truth and the answers to the sorrows of life . He received Enlightenment under a Bodhi tree, and forsook Nirvana to remain on Earth and travel, preaching the law . It is said that Vishnu appeared as Buddha to encourage the demons and wicked men to despise the Vedas, reject caste and deny the existence of God, and thus to effect their own destruction . Buddha means wise and intelligent . His representation is of a calm personality, with elongated ears, a top -knot on the head, seated on a  lotus leaf in the position of meditation with a palm uplifted towards his disciples in a gesture of teaching .
Buddha ‘ s teachings are formed on the four noble truths that life is rooted in suffering, suffering is caused by craving, release from suffering is through release from craving and this can be achieved by following the noble eight-fold path . This is the path of right understanding, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right awareness and right concentration .
Budha , spelt with a single cd’ also refers to an astral god associated with the planet Mercury, son of Soma , the moon, by Rohini or by Tara, wife of Brihaspati. He was the author of a hymn in the Rig Veda and is said to be wise and intelligent as denoted by his name . More other names of Lord Buddha are as:Saumya, Rohineya, Praharshana, Rodhana, Tunga, Syamanga.
