Pranayama : pranayama is the science of controlling the omnipresent cosmic life force through the special exercises of controlling the breath. Breath is directed forcibly by our mind under the control of our will . it is a vitalizing regenerated force which can be utilized consciously for our spiritual development and for the healing of the incurable diseases. When we are able to control the prana energy associated through our breath, chakras, nadis and mind then the secret of subjugating the prana will be known to us. Controlling the breathing is called Pranayam. All your activities, physical-mental, are based on
breathing. Inhaling is absorbing Prana Tatwa / life force in the body. Air is the carrier of Prana Tatwa / Cosmic Energy. At this stage take a deep breath and gradually release it out. Take a longer time to exhale. This time sense can be easily attained if you concentrate on the abdomen to breathe out completely. The mastery over the universal prana energy gives a victory over all kind of fear. An attractive aura is developed around the yogis, which influence others. Pranayama is related with our breath and thoughts. By the control of breath we can control the prana flowing in our body and by controlling the prana we can control our five sense organs, thoughts and mind. By the control of mind , yogi can control his instinct of sex, anger, pride, greed, and attachments. There are networks of overlapping similar nerves and Nadis in both the bodies. Prana flows in the both the networks of nerves of physical and Nadis of astral bodies. There is an intimate connection and interaction between the pranas flowing in two systems. Pranayam should be done in the open air or well ventilated room in a lonely and peaceful place at the time of morning. It requires a deep concentration and empty stomach. A japa of Aum mantra along with Pranayama is better and beneficial.
